Tarmac

Often the cheapest option, especially for big areas. For small areas can be more expensive than paving. It is most suitable for areas used by vehicles. It can be machine laid or hand laid. If it is done properly by a registered contractor, it should last 10 years without any problems. Shady and damp tarmac areas are prone to moss and lichen. Can be damaged by prolonged contact with water. If you need to access the services underground it must be removed and re-laid again, leaving patches in the driveway.
